The annual
Neighbourhood Watch ‘Picnic in the Park’ held on the 21st May
was the most successful yet. Luckily the rain just about held
off and the event was attended by hundreds of local residents
including the newly elected MP, Paul Scully.
Glenthorne
High School provided the majority of the entertainment which
was very well received and they are gifted with some very
talented musicians and singers.
Our local safer
neighbourhood police team were also out in force along with
some police cadets, dog handlers and the very popular fire
brigade engine and crew.
The territorial army had a
very impressive display which included a number of vehicles
with camouflage nets and the Premier Sports Team were kept
very busy with their archery.
New to the event was a
local “ Burger Van” called the “Food Pod” which provided some
excellent refreshments at a very reasonable price which again
proved to be very popular indeed.
Norman Summerfield
and his committee are to be congratulated for their hard work
in organising this event.
