Remembering Our Chairman, Ray Leyden
The Friends Group mourns the
loss of our dear friend and Chairman, Ray Leyden, who
passed away recently.
Ray was a foundational part
of our community, leading us as Chair since the group
was first established in May 1998. His passion for our
work and his steady guidance over the last three
decades shaped the group into what it is today. He was
more than a Chairman; he was a friend to all who knew
him.
Service Details Friends and colleagues are invited
to attend the funeral service:
-
Tuesday, 31st March 2026 at 2:00 PM
-
Morden Crematorium, Garth Road, Morden
In lieu of flowers, the
family kindly requests donations to the
Royal British Legion.
We extend our heartfelt
condolences to Ray’s family and loved ones. He will be
greatly missed.

The area of the park was formerly 'GLEBE' land administered for the benefit of the people of Sutton. We have drawn up a brief 'History' of the site which we trust you will find interesting.
FoSCP, formed as FoSCRG in 1998 and now active for more than 10 years, are a small but dedicated group of local residents from both Sutton and Morden, who voluntarily give up their time to ensure that the short and long term interest in the protection of the Park for local residents is maintained.
Our current objectives are to improve the use made of the park, and to secure its long-term future.
We welcome new members to help in this task, to widen our expertise and to broaden our activities. |
Keeping you up to
date on park issues.
